Welcome to Foundation of Life - Lactation & Beyond.
Foundation of Life understands that parenthood is full of ups and downs. Whether you are a new parent or expanding your family, each baby is a great blessing that comes with a new set of unique challenges. At FOLLAB we believe that the way you care for and feed your baby sets the foundation to the rest of your child’s life.
Lactation: Foundation of Life is here to help you by providing loving support for sustainable infant feeding by our International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant & Owner: Brittney Groff. Whether you are breastfeeding, pumping, or combo feeding we have your back!
& Beyond: Before founding Foundation of Life, Brittney served her community as a Nutrition Educator for the Florida Department of Health WIC program for 5 years. She helped navigate families through maternal nutrition, infant and child feeding principles, introduced the importance of breastfeeding, and supported families at any and every step in their journey.
At WIC, I saw first-hand the importance of supporting families through the hardships they were facing or could potentially face. Being able to support families in a breastfeeding journey really helped them build a strong foundation for infant feeding even during hard times. When we faced natural disasters such as hurricanes in Florida, I saw formula-feeding parents discover unexpected challenges when formula shortages occurred. They would come in asking “How do we feed our baby if we can’t find formula?” It was heartbreaking. I saw those challenges arise again during the COVID-19 pandemic and intensify during the national formula recalls. I felt inspired to become a lactation consultant to better support parents that are facing these hardships and assist others with preventative and anticipatory guidance.
As a new mother myself, I am very grateful for the knowledge that I had prior to having my daughter. I had a home birth with a midwife and my baby was struggling to latch due to her tongue & lip tie. Thankfully I was ready to navigate my breastfeeding journey, but I quickly realized that having additional support is so valuable; because postpartum comes with its own recovery process. I am proud to be able to provide that extra support to mothers and families, whether it is with a mom's personal nutrition, her baby’s nutrition, baby and mama lead weaning, or just providing moral support as a mom friend. I love that I can do that.

Fun Facts about Brittney:
In addition to working at WIC, Brittney also worked at Jupiter Creamery, a sustainable family-owned farm in Florida that educates the community on how to sustainably farm through workshops. Britney would help milk the cows and complement the farming workshops by creating fun nutrition-related games to teach kids (and those young at heart) about nutrition principles. She still sits on the Board of Directors at Jupiter Creamery.
